Place for Bands Presents…

An exceptionally cool and chill concert, on what will hopefully be an exceptionally beautiful first evening of June. Two of our favorite Montreal bands are coming through on tour; we will also be blessed with music from a Guelph based singer-songwriter with a voice like silk.

♪ ♪ ♪  Inland Island ♪ ♪ ♪

Inland Island is Montréal-via-Toronto singer/songwriter Avalon Rossignol-Tassonyi. Currently performing live as a two-piece with Ellen Belshaw. In 2017 Inland Island released the full-length record Step Right Up, linked is the music video for the song Toxic. We hosted Inland Island around this time last year and it was an absolute pleasure. Excited to see this project returning to Guelph for another visit.

♪ ♪ ♪  Doffing - Band ♪ ♪ ♪

Doffing is a four-piece rock band based in Montreal. Their music is at once both raw and intricate. Don’t get too comfortable, expect fast and frequent changes in tempo and tone. Doffing is about to release their album Tower of Ten Thousand Miles, it comes out on May 25th. Also, as if that wasn’t enough, they have a unique band website featuring forums, custom games, and other net-based content:

♪ ♪ ♪  Anna Wiebe Music ♪ ♪ ♪

Anna Wiebe is a Guelph local who writes thoughtful self-reflective songs. Her resonant vocals are accompanied by luscious folk instrumentation. In Autumn of 2016, Wiebe released her debut full-length record New Behaviour.

VENUE: Take Time Vintage (this space is physically accessible and has a gender-neutral restroom)

DATE: June 1st 2018

COST: 10$ / PWYC - No one turned away for lack of funds. Everyone is welcome to pay what they can afford; we want every person who cares about this music to be able to attend the concert.

SCHEDULE: Doors open at 8 PM – Music begins shortly after.
This event will conclude by 11 PM.

Please be respectful of the venue, we expect all concert attendees to be courteous and gracious to our host, they deserve our utmost admiration. Please be considerate of other people at the show, we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable.
